Is there a way to change recommended stories from 21 down to 14? Can I select what categories I want and make them default?

How is this a Firefox browser issue?

Hi Ted, there aren't any convenient settings for changing the Recommended Stories section. There are a bunch of hidden settings, but I don't know what most of them do. If you are feeling a little experimental, I found one you might want to try. Here's how you would go about it:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste discoverystream.topicSelection and pause while the list is filtered - Firefox should list about a dozen preferences

(3) Assuming it is not currently set to true, double-click the browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.discoverystream.topicSelection.enabled preference at the top of the list to switch the value from false to true. I suggest keeping this tab open to see what changes in the next step.

(4) Open the new tab page in a new tab and look for a new button to the upper right of the recommended stories section labeled "Pick your interests." When you click that button, Firefox displays different subjects. Try making changes to see what happens.

This seemed to put my interests first, but didn't hide the ones I'm not interested in. How does it work for you?
