So i own an Android Phone and i use DuckDuckGo search engine on PC. I just got this adversting from duck asking me to install their extension on android. So why is this important, well obviously they directly tell me they know i own an android phone. Otherwise they would have sayd it this way; extension for mobile phones now available, or duckduckgo now available for iphones. The only other possibility would be if this is a new feature that is in general displayed to everyone, but i dont beleve this is the case because an iphone owner wouldnt care about an android extension. This is wired, is it not?

Hello Firefox_Beginner,

I also use Duckduckgo! Join the Duck Side!

Let me try my best:

You cannot directly assume that Duckduckgo is tracking you. Even if you are suspicious of it, confirm they aren't through their privacy policy. What a company states in their privacy policy, they are required to follow.

https://duckduckgo.com/privacy is their privacy policy.

Now, if you don't know, Android is the most popular OS in the mobile phone market. So it would make sense to make an app suitable for it, right? That way more people can use that product.

Knowing this, it is just a coincidence that you have a very popular device and they are trying to share their product with a very popular product.

I hope this helps!
