Recently, I began having sound problems with Firefox -- doesn't matter what I am watching: a stream, a youtube video, anything.....suddenly the video will stop as if buffering (I see the three dots)...video will then resume, but without sound.

I have run diagnostics on my computer sound and everything is fine....I've even troubleshooted while affected video is soundless....I get sound through my sound devices....yet nothing through firefox. The only solution is close the brower and return to target site....however, that is only temporary as the loss of volume will occur again within 5-10 minutes.

The other solution (which lasts a little longer) is to uninstall and reinstall the browser. I have tested other browsers and this does not happen. I am at a loss.
