Can I undo various changes from the 89.0 Firefox update, or simply revert the update?
The new update released hours ago has introduced problems that Google Chrome had, which is the very first reason in the first place that I left Chrome to get Firefox.
The menus have been made larger, with more clutter. This is especially apparent in every instance of bookmarks. The text and icons and space between the bookmarks have all been increased in size, making it more annoying and less clean to use, as well as looking unpleasant. No settings will allow me to zoom out on the menus or tabs or bookmarks. The tabs and the prompts have also been redesigned along with menus and it looks awful. I left Chrome to avoid the style and it has unfortunately followed me to Firefox.
Everything about this update has made the browser worse and more akin to Chrome, which I heavily dislike. I understand this is nitpicking and doesn't matter much. I still would like the old version back. Is there a way I can download the old version of Firefox anywhere? Heavy thanks to whoever reads and responds.

**Menu Item Spacing**
Unfortunately, I don't think there is any built-in way to modify the spacing of menu items (to make them closer together).
One option is the community-supported workaround of restyling the interface by creating a userChrome.css file. It's a little bit of a project, so make sure you set aside 10 quiet minutes to work through it.
(For anyone who already has a userChrome.css file set up, you just need to add the rule under (A) to your file.)
(A) Select and copy the following style rule code
/*** Tighten up drop-down/context/popup menu spacing ***/
menupopup > menuitem, menupopup > menu {
padding-block: 4px !important;
}
:root {
--arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 4px 8px !important;
}
(B) Generate and download a userChrome.css file
Open the following page and paste the above rules into the editor, replacing the sample rule:

Then click "Generate CSS File" and save the userChrome.css file to your computer. (See first attached screenshot)
Use the downloads list on the toolbar to open the downloads folder directly to the new userChrome.css file. (See second attached screenshot)
Minimize that file browser window for later reference.
(C) Create a new chrome folder in your profile folder

I have videos for both Windows and Mac in case the text is not clear.
(D) Move the userChrome.css file you generated in Step B into the chrome folder you created in Step C
(E) Set Firefox to look for userChrome.css at startup -- see step #6 in the above article.
The next time you exit Firefox and start it up again, it should discover that file and apply the rules.

I think mozilla Firefox should fix it by putting it back the way it was. I'm old. I don't understand anything in this "solution" so it is not a solution for me at all.

Hi, I just learned about an easier workaround last hour. It's a temporary preference that should provide partial relief:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to switch between true (new style) and false (old style)
In my test, the Bookmarks menu on the optional top Menu Bar was messed up in the existing window, but looked okay in a new window.
If that doesn't help enough, you still have the option to use custom style rules in a userChrome.css file.
I've made the above changes but my bookmark drop-down lists (menus?) are still double-spaced .... uh,. have waaayyy too much padding.
The browser's drop-down menus are fine, now - like the open app menu and even the "other bookmarks" *sidebar* - but clicking the "other bookmarks" folder icon (or any other folder icon on the bookmarks bar) still gives me a list that has too much spacing.
Any other suggestions???
