So based to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1242818 the option mentionned in about:config doesn't exist anymore.

in palce of that it has been replaced I guess by services.sync.prefs.sync.extensions.activeThemeID Well this option doesn't do shit. I still got my theme sync even with restarting the browser. It's very disappointing.

I should add the fact that's under 88.0.1 version so the last one, under windows and linux.

I have the same problem. I'm running Firefox (89.0 (64-bit) Windows 10) in 5 different profiles, which are synced using the same Firefox account. I want to configure a separate theme for each profile, while syncing rest of the settings.

I have tried to set (in about:config):

services.sync.prefs.sync.extensions.activeThemeID false services.sync.prefs.sync.lightweightThemes false

After restarting everything, Firefox is still synchronizing the chosen theme between the profiles.

I noticed, however, that I can configure separate themes for each Firefox by using the Firefox Color add-on. The add-on itself is synced to each Firefox profile, but apparently its configuration is kept local, allowing me to create different color backgrounds for each Firefox profile.
