My Widevine CDM Plug-in just crashed! I checked my Firefox settings and it looks like the Widevine plug-in just updated late last night, and is up to date. I fear the new update might be incompatible with my Firefox 78.10.Oesr / or my OSX 10.9.5 but I'm not sure. I'm not a mac savvy person but I'm always ready to learn. Any help would be appreciated!

Same here, same Firefox version, same OS. Some time in last few days it became impossible to use Netflix or Spotify. Error message is "The WidevineCdm plugin has crashed." "Submit crash report button" does nothing except make the error bar disappear.

Mozilla must be aware of this problem. It's not good business to leave loyal customers to search for answers in online forums. I'm mystified why they don't have a blanket solution. As it is, with the 4/20/21 update to Firefox 78.10, I can't stream on my Xfinity account, or YouTube, or Kanopy, or Peacock and probably all the TV network websites -- unless the videos aren't subject to the licensing restrictions or are in the public domain. I like really old movies that have entered the public domain, but Firefox shouldn't for whatever reason interfere with loyal customers access to more recent releases. And why is there not a phone number to call or a live chat help feature?

Oh yes. I sincerely understand your frustrations and agree with your ideas too. But the world is moving very fast my friend. And many of us are left breathing in the exhaust. But the young genius's are hard at work trying to keep pace with the ever evolving world of the internet.

So please remember that FireFox is a work in progress. There is even a new release awaiting after the current beta review. So the mozillian programmers are like the soldiers in the war against those world wide villians that want to steal our information and money.

So trying to make 1 application to fit the millions of computer configurations is challenging.

However, on the bright side, the reason your plug-in was updated last night is because the programmers are 1aware of the issue. And strangely, the other Mac users that also had issues with NetFlix and others, seemed to have had their issues resolved either by reverting back to the 78version and or the plugin update.

I think that maybe you have to erase all the old cookies and cache data so that new information can be re-downloaded to the cookie file and cache. But I dont know how this is done on a mac - yet. Did you do a reboot after the update?

In the interim, you are able to use Safari. RIght?
