Hi robert237, Firefox is a multiprocess application. The browser has certain processes that run with higher privileges (for shared function), and certain processes that run with lower privileges (for web pages) to reduce security risk to the system. Tabs are divided among several content processes so that a single tab crash doesn't take down everything.

To see more about how things are split up as you are running Firefox, you can view a new internal page. Type or paste about:processes in the address bar and press Enter to load it.
