Why was one of the add-ons able to take over control of the entire browser and add-ons in it and establish its own rules? At the same time, it deleted all history and open tabs and my profile (firefox) did not save anything and did not restore the current session after reinstalling the browser, although it is worth remembering the current session and tabs there. I tried to remove this add-on for a long time, but it blocked all possibilities to do it. The browser began to open with one tab with an incomprehensible address, which was not even displayed correctly, and any attempt to search for something led to the opening of an incomprehensible search engine, but it was possible to go to Google. I don’t remember the name of the search engine, alas, it was several months ago, there was still no time to write to you. Oh yes, on the screenshots everything is in Russian, I'm not sure that you can fully understand them, and if so, write to me about it and I will try to translate the key positions. I would be glad to hear at least some thoughts on this in my profile mail. Here are some screenshots:

Chosen solution

A policies.json file in the distribution folder can be used to customize Firefox and restrict some features.

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

You can check the about:policies#active page to see whether policies are active (63+).

You can inspect the Mozilla and Firefox keys with the Windows Registry Editor in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and in HKEY_CURRENT_USER with the Windows Registry Editor to see whether GPO policy rules are active.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox\

Note that the mere presence of the "Mozilla\Firefox\" key is sufficient to make Firefox display this notification, so if you have the Firefox key then remove it and only leave the Mozilla key or remove this key as well if it is empty.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox\ =>
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\

I did not find a way to answer the moderator, so I am writing as an answer to myself). cor-el thanks for the information she would have been very useful at that moment, but I did not come across something like that when I was looking for it, apparently I was not asking that. After all, I tried to remove the "addition", but because of this policy and the prohibition inside the mozilla, I could not do it. And this problem was solved later by my investigation and the discovery of a new folder in a folder with a browser called "distribution" in which there were two files blocking normal operation. And in the registry at your address, I do not have a mozilla line, there is only a microsoft line.

Better late than never, right?) If I had known this before, I would not have been so upset that my favorite browser can so easily turn into a kind of toy in the wrong hands, bypassing my desire. Thanks for your help and good luck!
