Note that you can easily bypass extensions by using Safe Mode or simply using the about:addons page.
A solution with the hosts file might also not work properly with current changes to use DoH (DNS over HTTPS) that ignores the OS hosts file.

In that case you can add the domains to this pref on the about:config page.
