I've installed Firefox 72.0.2 just now. I have Mac OS 10.11.6. Firefox opens then is frozen. I need help and would prefer to use Firefox if possible

Safari works fine. I have no extensions on Firefox. I've just downloaded Firefox today and the page opens, but is frozen- I can't type in a web address, no typing appears in the address bar.
