I am using Firefox 70.0.1 on Ubuntu and after a recent update (I think) all my saved logins and passwords have disappeared. This has happened before and then I restored from the 'Old Firefox' folder which had been created on my desktop. This time however there is no such folder on my desktop. I have tried creating a new profile from scratch and logging into Firefox to do a fresh sync, which says it has completed, but no passwords are downloaded. On my phone (Firefox mobile) my logins+passwords are all there. I notice there in my ~/.mozilla/<profile> folder there are two empty files with corrupt suffix:

   extension-settings.json.corrupt
   logins.json.corrupt

with datestamps around the time i noticed this How do I get my logins back?

Chosen solution

I resolved this by manually copying logins.json and key4.db from another computer that I had previously synced to.
