Reviewed a very similar problem and suggested solutions for this user: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1266009 , however, that problem was different.

Everything worked fine until a couple of days ago.

Now, a login into Amazon on Firefox requires a One Time Password be sent to my phone. What a pain! There is something unique to my Firefox settings on this computer that is causing this.

Security settings in Amazon do NOT require 2 step verification. Security settings in Firefox do not clear the cache or history when closing Firefox

Can log in to Amazon without a 2 step verification on Google Chrome browser, Safari browser, and the apps on iPhone and iPad.

Can log in to Amazon without a 2 step verification in Firefox on my other laptop.

Restarted Firefox with add ons disabled, after clearing the cache.. No help

Disabled Norton security internet settings for firefox.

I'm sure the fix is simple but have run out of ideas

Thank you for looking this over.

Your problem is not due to Firefox. It is Amazon asking for your OTP when you login to Amazon at the OTP make sure you check Trust this Browser or Computer and it should not ask again unless you reset or change your browser. On your other computers Amazon is trusting your browser already that is why it is not asking for it. Don't know why it started asking for it if it is not checked for 2 Step Authorization in your account. Since I have been using 2 Step for sometime in all accounts and services that it is offered at first it was a pain but now I don't even notice it. And in combination with AUTHY which is a App for Windows, Mac, and IOS and Android it is very simple.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

There is no option to check "Trust this Browser" at the Amazon OTP page, or the login page.

See attached screen shot.

I have just tried to sign into my account using a incognito window and the option was available to me to Trust my Computer! If I was you I would contact Amazon Customer Service and see if they can help you. But first I would sign into Amazon and go to your account and then look at security and 2 Step Settings and browse the OTP Section and check out your setting for it.

Yep I contacted Amazon customer service and talked to a real person!

They concluded it was my browser, and they were right.

There is nothing in my Amazon security setting requiring 2 step verification, and my various logins on other browsers confirm this.

Just have no idea what setting is causing this.

Cannot use an incognito window to sign into Amazon with my name to the OTP page.

I yield don't know? But with that try this using Sync so as it will backup your settings and such and Reset your browser back to defaults and try to login again before you back into your Sync Account and see if it happens again.
