autofill address poorly implemented

The address autofill is mostly useless the way it is implemented. It creates tons of entries that are almost the same, and there is no easy way to tell the difference (for example same address different email address). The drop down that appears is overwhelming. I think Firefox could learn some things from the way LastPass has Form Fill Profiles. The advantage Firefox could have is storing rarely used addresses (which I'm not going to bother with on LastPass), and the Firefox approach functions even when one is not logged in to LastPass. Thanks

And your talking about LastPass whom got hacked and user accounts stolen? I think we should not be using LastPass as a example here.

Thanks for reply WestEnd. But getting hacked is irrelevant to the design of the address autofill. I was trying to find an example that seemed to work better than the Firefox implementation.

I posted this issue a year or more ago, and got no response, not even an irrelevant one such as what you got. Every single time I use autofill for my name and address, it asks if I want to create a new entry, even though I have made no changes. I ignore the prompt, but it creates a new, identical entry anyway. I think I have over 100 entries. There's no point in clearing it out as it will just fill up again. Oh, and the phone number autofill seems to be a random number generator. The phone numbers it suggests are not even close to mine.

I see this topic is buzzing with activity (sarcasm). Today autofill got my phone number correct but put me in New Jersey. I have never lived in New Jersey and this is the first time it has gotten my state wrong.
