I click on website links that I have saved to the browser toolbar but it does not open the website. This happens for all weblinks.

Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 Mac 10.14.2

I removed FF from the system and redownloaded FF and after using it for a few days none of the the bookmark links I click on in the toolbar work/activate. I have opened FF in safemode and still it has the same problem. I have been using FF for several years and this problem started happening about a month or so ago. FF does connect to the net. I can type a URL address in the search bar and open that site though. I have run Malwarebytes and nothing bad is found.

Does anyone have this problem? Help please.

Lost all bookmarks in doing so.

No. That should test and try to repair the database. The report looks okay.

Removed Flash Player and rebooted FF. All seems to be working properly now

Give it a few days. If the problem is gone, That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player or remove it using these links; Uninstall Flash Player | Windows {web link} Uninstall Flash Player | Mac {web link}

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Let's start with, [v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.

When done, copy and post the results here.

Lost all bookmarks in doing so. Was that supposed to happen? I have a copy luckily.

Removed Flash Player and rebooted FF. All seems to be working properly now. Let's hope it holds for more than a couple of days before it gets corrupted again. Thanks all!

I ran the test and in fact it did wipe away all bookmarks. It is ok because I only had about 10 of them since reinstalling FF. Now it is working well.

Thanks.

Well, the problem is back. I deleted Flashplayer and thought that helped b/c FF ran well for several days. I ran Onyx to clean my system as I have done weekly for years while running FF. But now FF bookmark links are non responsive. I click a link and nothing happens. Well, I exported links to HTML and backed up the links too. Then removed FF using App Uninstaller. Then redownloaded FF. Imported HTML links and restored links but 50% of the bookmark folders I made are empty!!! I have been having so many problems with FF over the past few months I am about to give up entirely on FF and go back to Safari. Does Onyx not work with FF? Help please. Thanks!

This was marked as solved. It would be best if you ask another question, and post a link back to this.

This would show the current status of the browser.
