Sorry for having forgotten this thread. Unfortunately, I did end up having to do a download/install. But...since then, I've not had to download again.

</p><p>I was aware of that download page, but I did ask if there was any way to either 1) force the update, or 2) [restore the previous version as it was so as to] stop the UAC from coming up asking if I want FF to make changes to the system.
</p><p>Downloading is for now a last option.
