Firefox updated itself when I started it and my bookmarks and passwords are gone. How can I retore them?

Posted

When I last closed it, there were about five windows opened with many tabs I planed to return to. I am using a Mac. Firefox is not sync'd. I've spent a month slowly switching from Safari to Firefox. Created a lot of new and original bookmarks and logins. The loss is a real setback. It opens in a new profile it created. "Old Firefox" is not on my computer. I've read somewhat similar problems. The solutions seem very complex and do not seem to apply. Any way I can restore my work?

Many have reported such issues. Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; '''Old Firefox?''' https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-run-firefox-when-profile-missing-inaccessible
