For example tumblr has a function that directs the saved pics/files to same folder on computer after the first time, how do I get that one back? Deviantart changed their addresses and apparently I clicked wrong place by mistake since now the save isn't opening to right folders...

Did you look at FF settings to reset the save locatoin?

You mean on Options or Customize Firefox?

I'm pretty much amateur, so you have to tell how to do that.

I asked Deviantarts Help about this, and the answer I got was:

"Thanks for your inquiry. If you have disabled the secondary popup that appears in Chrome that asks you to confirm the action you will have to enable this popup once again in order to complete that action.

To reset this setting you'll need to restart your Chrome browser and ensure this box is not checked off when you use this feature again. For additional assistance with how to enable these types of popups please consult the help services for your browser."

Considering that I've already reopened FF several times after I first noticed the problem, any ideas how to check that box? I can't find anything on Options or Customize.

Hi, please Copy/Paste about:preferences to the Address Bar and Enter. Mouse down to Files and Applications and change the setting to Always Ask.

As for them over riding where you download to that is a security issue.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

As far as I can see, that did absolutely nothing, so I need further assistance/explanations.

You may need to restart Firefox for it to take effect.

Such choices are stored as part of the Site Preferences. I'm not sure if you can remove only the default download folder for just one website.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Pkshadow - did that.

cor-el - had to reapply password/name, but aside that nothing happens.

So, any other ideas? Having to find the folder manually isn't that big thing, but considering how many sites I have it does take time to check where they should go.

I may be late to this thread, but saw that it was unresolved. I would first recommend updating to Firefox 61, if not done already.

Downloads will be saved to the default folder, or the last visited folder. It can be changed in the preferences of your Firefox menu under "Downloads" > Choose Folder.

It is also possible to have Firefox ask you every time - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-fi...
