About an hour ago Nightly crashed and since then it doesn't load any pages whatsoever. I've already performed a clean install (uninstall, remove profile, reinstall, refresh) but it still doesn't work. FF60.0 works fine. I was testing a VPN while it crashed, so I think that could be related.

EDIT: The latest update fixed this problem. I still don't know what caused it, but it's working again.

Due to the Nightly channel getting checkins with two updates each day it can sometimes have issues until fixed, finished or reverted.

Are you, by chance, running 60.0b16? if you could reproduce the error (somehow) I think that could help out the developers, im using quantum 60.0b16 not nightly.

also, have to tried compiling firefox beta on your own? see what warnings and errors you get? that would be a good thing for developers in nightly as well :)

I'm sorry, but I'm unable to reproduce the error ever since the latest Nightly update. I also have no idea how to compile it myself, but if the error ever occurs again I will look into it and try to reproduce it.

thats no problem, just look here, at the building doc for windows and try compiling it and make note of any errors or warnings you get from the output :)

plus when you do compile firefox, it compiles the program to your own computer's hardware, so it will run even smoother.

sound good? :)

You posted with Firefox 60.0b15.

Can you confirm that you really mean Firefox 61.0a1 as the version that gives you this problem?

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

Usually the first to try in case of issues with Nightly 61 builds is to try a new profile.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Thank you for the reply, but the problem has already been solved by the latest Nightly update as I've stated in the edit. The reason why I posted with Firefox 60.0b15 was because Nightly wouldn't start at all. I don't want to confuse anyone by leaving this as unsolved, so I'm going to mark this as solved. I appreciate everyone's help.
