If you are saying Firefox works again that is good. Let's hope this ttime it stays fixed. It may be worth noting Firefox should have updated, or be about to update from Fx 50.0.2 to Fx 50.1.0. I was asking for a screenshot of the error message you get about a site being unsafe. i had to re download it as I uninstalled it as it was useless to me in the state it was in which ment I couldn't get the screen shot sorry Screenshots: That is not important now if Firefox is fixed, but you should not have needed to download Firefox to get any such screenshot, if you were getting the message from all sites you visit. amosf64 saidRead this answer in context 👍 0thanks for all the help, all of a sudden it started working this afternoon after i downloaded it yet again to try and get a screenshot of the error message. im wondering if its to do with the failed microsoft update that has caused so many problems with millions of computers not connecting this week

I'm no expert with Firefox, but I did have a random thought: I don't suppose you use a privacy VPN, do you?
There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-connection-failed-error-message
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/connection-untrusted-error-message
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_websites
This Connection is Untrusted is sometimes caused because the computer system clock is wrong. Check the time / date / time zone settings.
You can check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.
For future reference, Firefox isn't warning you about the sites, but about your connection to the sites. Typically when you get errors on most sites and your clock is correct, there is a "man in the middle" presenting fake certificates to Firefox. It could be your security software, or it could be malware. Firefox is just looking out for you.
Sorry guys none of these are relevant time is right, no vpn, its a clean install of Firefox as its a new computer, it just wont allow any connections, not even to Mozilla
Please say what the exact error message is and let us have a screenshot please. Testing out on the Mozilla site is a good idea as we know the site works.
- Please can you list what security related software you have in use ?
- See How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
Presumably you are posting these messages from the problem computer using an alternative browser. (So you are not resorting to using a different computer from say the office or some other location and connection method)
Many people obtain new computers that come with free pre-installed security related software, on a trial basis, together with other bloatware just the sort of stuff that can create these errors. (And from a few years ago many of us will still remember Lenovo & Superfish)

You have not said what antivirus you have.
