Kaspersky has had a similar notice but with more information on Firefox versions it is fixed in.

You appear to have the older Firefox 47.0 or 47.0.1

thanks James! I had version 47.0.1 and had it set to automatically upgrade and it said it was current... go figure? anyways, I was able to download 48.0.2 via your link. Problem solved. Cheers!
