How do I get all Firefox files to someplace other than the desktop?

I chose to download all files to the desktop for some dumb reason. I have tried to uninstall, clear all info, downloads, files, etc, and it still reloads to the desktop. I am not presented with another option. What can I do??

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar. Look under Downloads and set it up as you wish.
