almost every single day Mozilla is developing a new version of itself that is asking me to update itself to. I really wish I could find the time to find another browser so that I can ditch this nonsense forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You already appear to be posting from an alternative browser. Firefoxz does update fairly frequentl, with planned updates approximately every six weeks. But other browsers and software also updates continuously, it helps keep you safe to using up to dated software.

If Firefox is saying sites like Google are unsafe either you have malware and are looking at the wrong site, or more likely you have some software that is interfering and sitting between Firefox and the secure site. If that is security software that you trust you may be ok but will need to change settings so that the security software and Firefox can work together.

If you want to continue using Firefox tyhen please say exactly what the text is of the erro messagees and say what security related software you have in use on your computer.

Making a guess this may be an article that is applicable

Mozilla does not send out updates everyday for Firefox Releases.

The Firefox 47.0.1 is the current Release and has been out since June 28, 2016

It sounds like you are getting a random name website claiming a urgent Firefox update with a firefox-patch.exe or firefox-patch.js. This is Not from Mozilla or the Firefox browser. The fake firefox-patch.exe can install things like trojans, viruses, or unwanted software based on past reports.

You could try using a adblocker extension like uBlock Origin https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

Unfortunately this has gone on for a month now with one or two new sites reported almost everyday. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/712056/ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/712075
