I would like to know how to get back to my permanent tabs, or don't they exist anymore on this version? I had at least eight websites on permanent tabs, which made working much easier.

You can pin a tab via the right-click context menu of a tab on the Tab bar.

Pinned tabs are stored in the sessionstore.js as part of other session data. Keeping pinned tabs across a session requires not to use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the browsing history.
