Hi there. Sorry for the delay. Sometimes we get swamped.

About your screen, is it damaged? See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

I don't know Linux, so I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

Firefox 46.0 and later require GTK+ 3.4 as minimum and a GTK 3 theme. You can try to use a different GTK 3 theme in case the Linux theme you currently use isn't working properly with the current Firefox release.

Try to open another application in the screen area and resize it it to cover the area that you do not want to use. Then it is more likely that Firefox opens to the right of it.

Then you can move and resize Firefox and close Firefox. You can check the xulstore.json file to see if Firefox has stored the position and dimensions.

You can look for this section in the file.

"chrome://browser/content/browser.xul":{
"main-window": {"screenX":"0","screenY":"0","height":"991","width":"1162","sizemode":"normal"}}

xulstore.json file updates as i move the browser and gedit ask me to reopen with new information it shows the x and y and other information of location but it resets itself after close back to 0 and replacing it with a save file only causes it to rewrite over it back to x 0 y 0
