FIREFOX crashes when trying to attach files to email

When using Mozilla Firefox for Gmail (and Startmail), when clicking on file icon to ADD a file to the email, it brings up file window, but then freezes, crashes. Ironically enough it works with yahoo.

It used to work fine if I just dragged the file into the email, but now that isn't working either. Never fully loads the file. So then the spinning wheel of death comes, then I have to quit firefox and then crash report comes every time and asks for me to restore the tabs if i want. It's a major pain.

I tried with IE and it works just fine, so it's definitely Firefox.

I have the latest version of Firefox for MAC

Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F1603) Processor 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

The only way I can get a screenshot is if I simulate the spinning wheel of death and get it to freeze up by attempting to click the file button on gmail/yahoo or another online email, and try to go find a file to upload...then it begins spinning...and only way out is to hit command option esc (and physically stop the process of Firefox, which always says "Firefox not responding" Then a crash report comes up, and I send it every time.

Below is a copy paste of the last 7 shown from your instructions:
