I have googled and tinkered for hours trying to fix this problem, i tried everything i could think of any what others thought of in the forums, and nothing helped... So literally out of the blue, yesterday i was browsing away on firefox as i normally do, and i closed it. Later i opened it again, and suddenly firefox was unable to connect to the internet... all other applications and browsers did, but firefox just kept loading and loading forever. I changed the proxy settings to No proxy, to use system proxy, to load automatically, i restarted the pc, i did something with the IPv6 settings that was on an official firefox troubleshooting forum, and nothing worked. Finally i loaded in safe mode (without all addons and extensions) and it worked... everything worked, except i didn't have my saved passwords, bookmarks, etc. I ran a complete virus check on my PC using Nod32 Antivirus, and nothing was found. Then i found another solution, which was renaming the firefox launch file to firefox1.exe and that fixed it... Today, i get home i open the browser from the taskbar (which was assigned to the firefox1.exe file) and suddenly it didn't connect to the internet again, but when i opened firefox1.exe directly in the install directory, it worked... So i created an account and synced my stuff, and i refreshed the browser... It worked, until the addons and extensions were reinstalled. So its pretty obvious, its 1 of my addons and/or extensions doing this, however after disabling each 1, one by one, did not fix the problem. Then i reinstalled the browser completely and now i can't log in to the firefox sync, because (after the reinstall of the browser) it says "this connection cannot be trusted"... I am completely out of ideas.. my addons are: Adblock Plus Facebook Cleanup Password Manager Cache Viewer Youtube High Definition New Tab Override (stupid idea, by the way, mozilla... it is very frustrating i cant set what page i want opened on a new tab with this new firefox update, and that i have to install and addon to be able to....) and maybe 1 or 2 more, i can't recall. The extensions, however were the basic stuff, java, adobe flash, and whatever else you need for browsing ,watching videos, interacting with flash and java stuff, etc.

If anyone can figure this out for me, i would really appreciate it... im not a fan of chrome, because it has everything built in, which causes it to be slow and laggy at times. I've spent most of my life in front of a monitor, so i know quite a lot about computers, so if you need to get technical, don't be afraid. thanks in advance.

hi, can you please see if uninstalling firefox 44 first and then installing the 64bit version from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ does solve this issue for you?

No, it still says "This connection is not trusted." when i try to sync.

Correction: it says "This connection is not secure.".

is this the same kind of error as you had before switching to 64bit? (i thought pages just kept loading) when you click on "advanced" on the ""This connection is not secure" error page, what kind of error code is showing up there?

Yes, it's the same message i got before installing the 64 bit version. I made a screenshot of the advanced section of the error message, as i only have a split second before it goes back to the login page which says i need to be connected to log in (find screenshot attached). And no, the pages just kept on loading until i reinstalled the browser completely (at which point i was unable to reinstall my addons and extensions due to this error). I'm guessing it was one or more of my addons/extensions that caused that issue, but now that they are gone and i cant get them back, i can't check if the browser would connect to the internet with them. Well, i could get them back, but i really need my saved passwords, because some places it saved, i cannot remember anymore. However, when i did the full reinstall (both normal and 64 bit versions) it could open websites, except some of them look like the picture of youtube i attached.

thanks. could i ask you for a favour, since quite a few users are seeing this, but we are still a bit in the dark what is really at the root of the connection issues in 44 32bit: could you generate a list of installed software on your device with ccleaner as described at https://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/ccleaner-how-tos/listing-installed-programs & share this with us? thanks
