Global search seems not to work with maildir-backed accounts

No messages from newly installed maildir-backed accounts appear in Global Search results. Old mailbox-based ones are being searched fine.

Is this is for Thunderbird and not Firefox?

The TB support page for Maildir is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/maildir-thunderbird. There is a "please file a bug" link at the bottom, followed by a link to already filed bug reports - could check those out, as there are A LOT of reported bugs that match "global search".
