why can i only sign into google in a private window

I can no longer sign into Google and Youtube using Firefox on my lap top this is the link that comes up

I have checked cookie settings and cleared cache and cookies I can sign in if I go into a private window but don't want to have to do this. Your help would be appreciated.

Your current Google cookies might be corrupted. In PB mode you get a separate cookie jar. In PB mode you have the same cookie permissions, so if it works in PB mode then this meas that the cookie permissions are OK.

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
