Short story, firefox crashes in a loop, I can't even get it to open in the safe mode, tried re-installing, deleting firefox folders and no go.

That looks like a problem with the graphics display driver (hardware acceleration).

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

Thanks for your quick answer, but I cannot open firefox at all to go to tools menu to make this change. Safe mode crashes as well.

This is definitely an issue with the graphics display driver as you can see if you inspect the crashing thread.

Are you using an external display via a DisplayLink driver?

From the short log this bug about dlumd11.dll should have been fixed in the Firefox 40.02 release.

No, I do not use DisplayLink driver. I use VNC client every now and then.

I had updated displaylink drivers, rebooted, then I was able to open Firefox, then I disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox. Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

After, I had removed displaylink altogether, and rebooted. Once removed, I was able to open Firefox. Thx for your help!!!
