While this isn't causing any actual use problems, it is visually annoying.

After the last update 41.0a2 (2015-07-26) the "close icon" for the "active tab" is bugged.

I've tried Safe Mode and performing a refresh without Syncing my account and the issue persists.

If I switch to the "Default" Appearance the issue goes away and returns on switching back to the "Developer Edition" appearance.

Below is a screen shot showing the issue.

I've included the normal plug-ins that are active, but again, this still occurs in safe mode and with a blank refresh.

Your System Details list doesn't show any installed extensions.

Are you using a custom them or are you using the default theme?

Are you using any code in userChrome.css to style the tabs?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

In safe-mode with all extensions and add-ons disabled with hardware acceleration disabled the problem persists.

The theme is the default theme (Developer Edition) used by the Developer Edition install.

I have not modified userChrome.css

wfm 41.0a2 (2015-07-26) {Build ID 20150726004010) Just a comment that I do not see this issue, at least do not see on Linux. Do you still see the problem ?

@John99 Yes, still occurring. The last update did something wonky to "Developer Edition" appearance.

Next, I'm going to try uninstalling and nuking the Firefox components in AppData in the hopes that a full clean install will resolve this.

I'll post the results when that is done.

Alright, finally got around to completely nuking my Firefox install, AppData files etc...

And after a clean install the annoying graphic glitch is still present.

That's good to know, and thanks for posting back to keep us updated.

Developer does get frequent updates, and sometime has problems of one type or another because it is pre-release and used for testing and evaluation.

The Aurora aka Developer Edition and Nightly development channels gets checkins almost every day so therefore they get a update each of those days. Sometime(s) a checkin can cause minor to major issues due to regressions or wip features until reverted, fixed or completed.
