How do I arrange it so that I'm not having multiple closures when I only want to close one hotmail message, NOT HOTMAIL?

more options

I'm very tired of trying to close one message, only to have the hotmail account itself slam shut, thus requiring re-starting. Surely it's not supposed to act like this. A warning message doesn't help with the actual closure. I just know it is going to happen and am annoyed, again.

Note: This is not my default email account, nor do I want it to be. I want to be able to access two different accounts by opening one of two browsers. That part works but this closing thing is infuriating.

What method do you use to close a message in Hotmail (I assume using the Outlook interface on mail.live.com)?

  • If you are opening the message in the same tab, there is a set of icons on the upper right of the message: up arrow, down arrow, x, and using that x will return to you the the Inbox (or whatever folder the message is in)
  • If you are directing the message to a new tab, the individual tab should have a close button or you can use Ctrl+w to close that tab

Is that relevant or am I missing something important?
