I use susie 12.1 and the firefox 7.0.1 I have no longer works for some websites.

The only directions I could find said click the [help] menu but I could not find the word "help" to click to get started.
It was supposed to go to "about firefox" for an automatic update.
thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I'm assuming you mean OpenSUSE? Try updating to openSUSE 13.1

The Help > check for updates is for official builds of Firefox from mozilla.org

You may be using a third-party packaged build from openSUSE and they provide updates for Firefox in Yast.

There are updates as my firefox is old, but automatic updating did not take place . How do I enable automatic updating?
