Decreasing space in between icons on Bookmarks Toolbar

Did a Firefox 'refresh" (I think that was what it was called) yesterday to clean caches and other things to speed up FF. When it was done, my bookmarks toolbar was different. All of the BMs were there, just the names were back (I had deleted them for space) and after redoing that (NBD) the icons seemed further apart than they were previously. Fewer of them fit on the screen than before.

Is there a way to alter the space between the icons?
