Running FF 29...

Whenever I try to print to Nitro PDF, FF hangs...I can't change the file name in the "Save As" box and I end up having to exit out using the X in the upper right hand corner of the window...

I KNOW this is an issue with FF due to the fact I have uninstalled/reinstalled both FF and Nitro...and still the same issue...additionally, I do not have this problem in IE or Opera...

I am finding more and more reasons to move away from FF...and this is just another notch in the negative column...

I see that others seem to be having problems printing to PDFs, so is there a fix in the works?...

I saw in another post that the poster was asked if they reset the printer in the "about" options...Why should we have to do this?...We EXPECT the browser to continue to work from one version to the next...

The only thing really keeping me on FF at this point is the speeddial option, which does not have a compatible add-on for Opera/IE/Chrome, that functions like the one for FF (dial groups)...but if I need to switch, I will do so...

You haven't given us crash reports. If you would give us crash reports, then we could find out why Firefox crashes on you.

Can you give me your crash reports?

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and paste them into your response here.

You can also try Safe Mode to see if you can print there with no error.

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

  • Windows/Mac: Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
  • Linux: Run firefox -safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

Apparently there are no crash reports:

Submitted Crash Reports

No crash reports have been submitted.

Issue still occurred running in "Safe" mode

Hi TheSarcasticWit, Thank you for your question. Sometimes the printer settings need to be reset. Please also update to 29.0.1 from the about Firefox menu.

Thank you.

I have 29.0.1, and I have uninstalled the Nitro PDF printer/creator without any success...On one hand, I am wondering if it is actually a Windows 8 compatibility issue, as I don't have this problem on a Vista rig, yet I don't have the issue with Internet Explorer under Windows 8, which leads me back to it being a Firefox issue...

I came to this page while searching for similar problem with Acrobat pdf printer. Not exactly same since I use ESR release channel and I am at V24.6.

But it's definitely Firefox problem because I have Windows 7 and the problem didn't go away even after I updated Acrobat V9.5 to V11 (XI).

Firefox crashes the same way when I try to use xps printer as well.

Uninstall/reinstall (complete removal including profile), reset, disabling all addons and extensions, none of these worked.
