With Firefox 144, there is unasked for/unwanted AI introduced. How do I ensure that all AI is completely disabled in my browser? I found a link describing some settings, but want to confirm this will disable ALL AI in the browser. I don't want it, don't trust the privacy/security holes yet to be found and would prefer it was not included in Firefox to begin with. The list I've found is:

Will this do it? What about:

browser.ml.chat.nimbus

Do I need to clear that field to ensure I don't get some auto opt-in in the future as more and more of this "stuff" is put into the browser?

Why not leave Firefox as a security/privacy conscious browser and put out a separate AI browser (FirefoxML?) for those that are not as concerned. How does Mozilla ensure that no information is leaked through AI from sessions for professionals that must protect physician/patient, attorney/client information or other legally confidential information?

Using Firefox 145.0.2, Flatpak installed via Bazzite's Bazaar store, there is no "sparkle" button in the sidebar, no options present like there are when I use Firefox on Windows.

I tried to add a website to the ALLOWED pages in Firefox settings but there is no ADD button anywhere. Where can I find it?

Over the past few updates, I’ve noticed an issue with Firefox where it no longer restores my previous session when reopening the browser.

I normally keep four tabs pinned and about five additional tabs open for browsing and work. In the past, I could simply click the X to close Firefox, and when I reopened it, all my tabs that are pinned and unpinned would automatically come back. Recently, this stopped happening. Now, if I close Firefox, it opens with a fresh window instead of restoring my previous tabs.

I’ve already checked the setting under General/Startup, and Open previous windows and tabs is enabled. Because of this issue, I avoid closing Firefox entirely, since rebuilding all my tabs each time has become a hassle.

Is there a way to fix this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

can you give us the option to change the hotkeys/shortcuts please? is it possible for this to be an option for the future, I and I believe a lot of others switching from chrome to firefox would like the accessibility to change it as to what they're used to. Thank you very much for your time.

Is there a way to completely opt out of having AI in my browser?

I find recent implementations of AI in Firefox quite frankly disgusting. I don't want to see it, I don't want to use it, I don't want it suggested to me. Not only it's unneeded, but also all your LLMs are a waste of electricity, fresh water and are a threat to my privacy, and we don't even mention all the legal trouble AI scraping creates.

I need a switch to completely remove any mention of LLMs/AIs in my Firefox browser unless I search for it on the internet (and, trust me, I wont; I'd prefer to continue thinking for myself and having real people with skills and talents do things if I can't do them myself) and have none of them touch me in any way. Kill that thing with fire.

Ideally Firefox, one that advertises itself as a secure browser with respect towards its users, shouldn't have any mention of AI in the first place, you know. But since companies are in a craze about it for some unknown reason (trust me, we don't want it; if I want to be lied to, I'd go to a paediatrician to talk about my symptoms, not a language model I can't trust with my data), at least give your users an option to get that awful thing out of their browser it they want to.

On a brand new profile for Firefox without configuration of any kind I get an AI chatbot in the sidebar and AI tabs suggestions.

Why?

Is Mozilla looking to destroy decades of good will?

Anything like this should be something you have to opt-in to see, not try and opt-out of.

If privacy is a true concern then any of that stuff should be an extension, and not something on by default.

I really don't understand why Mozilla is doing this.

I'm trying to disable the alt + t shortcut in firefox and having absolutely no luck. I've searched for answers and all of the ones I've found haven't worked. I tried the about:config "ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses" set to true option and hiding the menu bar. Neither work. Is there anything that would work for me?

Hi, I unchecked something in my settings and I don't know what I did to cause when I right click to copy something there is no copy and a lot of the rest of the options are no longer there as well. Can you tell me what to do to repair this? It doesn't give me the option to take a screen shot either or I would show you what's left in that popup box. It only give me "Ask an AI chatbot" and the "translate".

Is there a button I push or a feature I enable to make sure that I'm opted-out of any future updates that include AI 'features'? Or should I switch to Vivaldi now and save time?

I search but did not find any list of environment variables supported by Firefox. Is there such an official list, perhaps groupped by Firefox version, published somewhere?

I host a website, and don't want browsers (particularly Firefox) offering modified versions to others. Is there a header or something I can set webserver-side to disallow Firefox from offering the option?

Hi! I'm on a relatively new to me (refurb) desktop computer running Win 10 Pro (64 bit)* and Firefox 143.0.3.

In the past week both Firefox and Win 10 have updated. I don't know what happened, but now when I boot up or reboot, my computer opens to MS Edge. Yuck!

Every single time I have to reinstall Firefox! Once I do that, all is well again. I have all my bookmarks back, etc.

It also keeps changing my "default to Firefox" browser setting, turning it OFF, while I'm using Firefox. I repeatedly have to keep going in and clicking to make FF to the default browser again.

Why is it doing this? How do I stop it?

Anyway, I know I can't delete Edge or uninstall it. How do I shove it back into the black hole it has lived in until now?
