I am the maintainer of the British Dictionary.

For one year that I have been working in the "shadows" on my version of US+Canada+Australian, to be released on 1-JAN-2026.

Can I add your list of proper names (~5000 words) to my dictionaries and release the dictionaries as LGPL?

So I recently reinstalled windows and noticed that if I select the option that asks me each time where a file should be saved before downloading it, the browser appears to begin downloading the file (I can see the .part file in the default folder) but the window that actually allows me to browse for a location in windows explorer never shows up and thus, I am not able to actually download the file. However, if I select the "pick a folder and everything will download to that folder" option, it downloads just fine. I'm wondering if there was a way to reinstall firefox but keep all if not most of my settings and tabs etc.

I'm begining to regret installing v146.0!

One of the most useful features of Firefox is the PDF editor and with this update, I've found that after annotating a PDF with several text boxes, clicking the text box icon (as shown in the attached screenshot) does absolutely nothing and it is impossible to enter any further text. The only way out of this is to refresh the pdf (after saving otherwise all changes will be lost) and then starting all over again only for the error to repeat itself making the editor almost unusable. Would really appreciate knowing how to work around this especially since to make my notes clearer, I change the color and the font size which is all lost everytime I have to refresh the PDF :-(

Incidentally, why are there so many updates? I prefer stable software that works rather than 'new features' that I never use!

Finally, Firefox used to have an amazing facility of making the Firefox private browser the default browser for Windows 10 but this was removed some years ago and can only be reinstated by changing registry keys. Everytime there's an update, these registry keys are overwritten :-(. Why was such a useful feature removed please?

A couple of updates ago, I received the message that some of my bookmarks will not be available. So I ran through the trouble shooting FAQs and I ran into a problem. When I go into Manage Bookmarks and it brings up my now empty library, when I select Import/Backup then Restore, it will not show me any files to restore from. Additionally, I used Fx File Utilities and it show the corrupt entry that I cannot remove, but allows me to export the json file to an html file so I can import it, but once again, when I select Import from HTML, it shows me no available files to restore from. Lastly, I imported the html file in to Chrome and then tried the option to import from another browser, but again, it will not allow me to select anything.

I have confirmed the integrity of the db as instructed, etc. So I have run out of options. How can I get my 15+ years of bookmarks back?

I don't know how to fix this in Firefox.

i want to set randome images for background on about:home and about:newpage i dont want to use extensions because it adding "Extension (name)" text in searchbar, also it changes firefox image near "new tab" text. i tryed to make userContent.css in chrome folder in profiles but it can do only 1 image. i cant make JS working for randome images. How to make userChrome.js working or how to remove "Extension (name)" from searchbar?

No bookmarks, says in use by another application. Tried all troubleshooting ideas Can't change name or delete places or favicons - again says in use by another application. Disabled all add-on security.

Download not adding a number to like files when saving. For instance (mycardexp.doc if I download the same named file tomorrow mycardexp.doc it use to add a number like mycardexp(1).doc FF has stopped adding the number showing that multiple files by the same name exist and how many.

Is there a way to hide bookmark names? I have several bookmarks that I keep in the bookmarks toolbar, and I can keep more links there only if I were able to hide bookmark names. I know what the link icon goes to, I just want the space without having to reduce the names of the bookmarks to a few letters. It would be even better if the name I set the bookmark to would appear when the mouse hovers over the link icon.

After the last Firefox update (146.0), my bookmarks bar only shows thumbnail images. The descriptive text which was previously black text on white back ground now appears to be white text on white background. (Whether my system is set to light theme or dark theme.) This happens on all of my Windows computers (both 10 and 11). How do I resolve this problem?

Why are you NOT clearing browsing data. I click on clear browsing data. Temp Cached files goes to zero. When I open a new browser that data still remains. I insist that you clear data for real not just for show!

I have an old Laptop which works perfectly for what I need, and I use Firefox for my Browser.

I had to shutdown my Laptop and everything seemed Ok on reboot. However, I can no longer access my Gmail account as I apparently "need Chrome" to get access...?

Do I? If so - how do I get it installed on my system?

Hello, I just updated to Firefox version 146, and now the bookmarks and history in the sidebar are no longer visible because the background is yellow-green and the text is white...so, invisible!

I hope you will fix this quickly with a new update, as it's a real problem.
