ALT-SHIFT-LEFT has been 'select word backwards' for years, at least on macs. And so it was on FF too. Now they suddenly decided to re-map it to 'select left tab'. There was already a key for that - CMD-ALT-LEFT. Which also works for the right, whereas ALT-SHIFT-RIGHT does nothin

since the last update, the shortcut keys to highlight a word at a time left OR right are both highlighting the next word AND also jumping to the last tab. AGAIN! I noticed this was identified as a problem back around 2019 in a search. I now cannot move fluidly within text, nor highlight a word at a time quickly. Either it's whole line or simply a letter at a time... which results in a pretty incompetent, crippling experience. PLEASE FIX!!

Hi! I'm using Firefox 126.0 on Fedora 39.

Pages from Amazon.co.uk load very slowly, incompletely, or not at all. All other Web sites are fine.

I had a couple of certificate-related errors saying that the identity of the site couldn't be verified, but I can't reproduce the problem, so I can't quote the exact wording, I'm afraid.

The same Amazon pages load properly in Chrome on the same machine, and they load properly in Firefox in a VM on the same machine. That tells me network connectivity must be fine.

I've tried disabling all extensions, reverting to the default theme, running in Troubleshoot Mode, clearing cookies and site data, clearing the startup cache, disabling hardware acceleration, and creating a new profile. The new profile helps slightly, in that it loads more of the page before getting stuck. Nothing else helps at all.

I'd prefer not to refresh Firefox if I can avoid it, because I don't want to lose all my plugins and settings. This installation is five years old. Besides, a new profile didn't fix the problem.

What's the next thing to try? I'd really appreciate any ideas.

during work I often open two windows of Firefox to have more information visible on my two monitors. Unfortunately I sometimes forget that I have a second window open, so I close only my "main" window and loose all tabs.

Is there a way to force Firefox to ask to close a window and loosing multiple tabs for every window open?

Right now this only happens for the last open window.

PS: I just found out about the keyboard shortcut of restoring a window (CTRL+SHIFT+N) recently. I would prefer a setting in my case.

Is there a way to create a new keyboard shortcut to copy current tab URL?

I've been using Arc to try some of their features, and what I miss the most is the hability to copy current URL to share without touching the mouse.

Bought a new computer. All my toolbar bookmarks migrated across successfully. Sidebar symbol missing from the menu bar and I couldn't find where these Book Marks were at first. But then I right clicked on the menu bar, clicked on Manage Book Marks which opened a Library box and there they were. Does anyone know an easier way to access them please? I'm trying to move away from using Google, so I swapped to Duckduckgo and removed Google as a default search. However, "Search with Google" is still appearing in my search suggestions bar with a pin icon in the corner, and I can't figure out how to remove it. Does anyone know how to do this?

I upgraded from 126.0.1 to 127 today. Upon update, all my windows are gone. The only way I could access them is to revert to an older profile backup and reinstall 126.0.1.

I tried exporting my session with Tab Session Manager in 126.0.1 and reopen them in 127, but that only restores the last tab of each window (oddly). The json clearly lists 3 windows each with multiple tabs. I tried copying the sessionstore-backups folder, but no dice.

A couple of months ago I discovered that I no longer have the ability to edit, delete, or dismiss a shortcut from the home page of my desktop. I did read that the 3 dots will appear if I hover over a shortcut. I tried that several times on different shortcuts but the 3 dots never appeared. Is there another way to edit, delete, or dismiss a shortcut? Or even better is there a way to restore the 3 dots?

I cleared my cookies, cache, history and data like I was told to when I connected a new router so all of my shortcuts have changed. A few that are there now I don't want and I do want to add several new ones.

When I open Firefox these days, the window is so big that the toolbar is barely visible. I have to put the cursor in just the right little spot to pull the window down and resize it. It is NOT full screen or maximized, it just opens a huge window that's too far up on the screen. I just want to resize the default window that it opens with.

Hi, it has been a while that one of the updates on firefox removed the ability to navigate using the middle click, i waited and waited for some day an update drop and fix that but it's been a while and nothing has come, i was sure to test this on another computer and it didn't worked as well so i'm pretty sure firefox has some problems, i mainly use a drawing tablet because i don't have a mouse, so navigating is a bit hard without the usual middle click nagivation(i'm not sure if there is an actual name to that), please help

I reset Windows yesterday to attempt to fix a problem with my computer. After redownloading Firefox and signing into a few basic things (including my Mozilla account), I realised all my logins were gone. I have followed the steps in [[this tutorial|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1310179]] but it didn't work - I think saving logins in this instance of Firefox overwrote the other logins file, as when I opened it, it only had the login info from what I logged into after I reset.

Looking at my connected services, it seems the instance of Firefox from before I reset is still open. I mention this just because it's possible that this would contribute to a solution.

Any help is greatly appreciated as I have a number of securely generated passwords and cannot access a good deal of my accounts.

Have been unable to view readers comments for a number of weeks and can figure out how to fix. it is not all the time, like last night were available but not this morning. All other browsers there is no issue including DuckDuckGo. Am using Ublock Origin, but have been using for years with no issue, even when turn off result the same.

EVERY [removed] DAY firefox looses my tabs, historys, extensions/addons, prefferences and settings.... EVERY [removed] DAY!!! why am i wasting hours each day trying to recover basic [removed] ur piece of shit web browser clearly cant retain. even [removed] BING would be better at this point. ive tried everything at this point even down to tab managers but again without the webrowser holding extension info this too is [removed] useless. whats more annoying is it has clearly been an issue for over 8 years with a 10sec google search.... Ive tried reinstalling firefox because i am not able to download anything with this browser. I thought freshly installing firefox would fix the issue and allow me to download but it didnt. I also am tried to download an addon/extension, and that automatically fails to download. How can i fix this?
