Can't make tab groups on android.

When I woke up to an update saying tab groups were now on android I was thrilled. ... And then I couldn't use them. I have confirmed, to the best of my ability, that I am on the correct version, version 153.0, in the firefox settings. I have read the article about creating them back to front. I turned my phone on and off again, cleared the cache, etc etc... As far as I can reasonably tell, it should work, ''and it just doesn't.'' Pixel 6a, android 17.
