How do I stop FireFox from telling me to set it as the default.
How do I stop this page from coming up several times a day. I have already set FireFox as my default browser, several times, but to no avail. I've careful followed your instructions. I dislike MS and have used FF for years. If this doesn't stop, I'll search for another browser that hopefully behave. I have set it on 4 computers, 2 Win 10, 2 Win 11.
By the way, the computers show FireFox twice, but only one actual installation.
Please do better!

Solved: Finally found the problem. FireFox supports more than one URL for a home page. The second URL was the support page telling how to make FF the default browser. Removed that URL and all is well. 4 computers were synced together so all 4 did the same thing.

ctgrusendorf, if you go to Tools menu > Settings then in the search field enter "Always check if Firefox is your default browser", is this option unchecked?
It is checked, and has been for years, I have always used FF and set it to always check that it is the default for when other software wants to be the default. The only other browser I use is Google Chrome, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. So once in a while it wants to be the default, but I always switch back to FF.
This is the page that keeps coming up. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-change-your-default-browser-firefox-windows?as=u&utm_source=inproduct
I have followed the instructions precisely. As noted in my first request above, 2 FF apps show up on the app page, there is only 1 installation. I don't know if this is related.
In Win 11, if I fix one app, no improvement, if I go to the 2nd app, same no change. In Apps > Default Apps > Firefox top of the page, Make Firefox your default browser, Set Default, I have clicked on it, and a check mark shows up. I have also set the various file types that are supposed to default to FF. (happens to be most of them)
Win 10 is a little different, but have done the equivalent for it to. As mentioned, I have 2 Win 10 and 2 Win 11 computers, all behaving the same.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
ctgrusendorf, if you uncheck that setting does Firefox stop asking?
Checkbox is checked and greyed out so I can't uncheck it.
I'm rather disappointed. TechHorse has dropped me. Maybe my response to his last suggestion wasn't clear.
I can not uncheck the setting so no, I am still getting frequent Firefox page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-change-your-default-browser-firefox-windows?as=u&utm_source=inproduct coming up.
Google Chrome displays a popup every now and then asking me to make it the default. Do you think that if I do, that it will override the Firefox setting, and let me make Firefox the default without checking that box, just setting the Windows default apps?
OR should I wipe out FF and reinstall?
Anyone there that can help me?

ctgrusendorf, one possibility is to try Troubleshoot Mode under the Help menu and see if that setting can be unchecked then. Sorry I can't be more help. Hopefully someone who knows more about Windows 11 and Google Chrome will see this question.
That doesn't work either. FireFox is still popping up a new tab telling me to make it the default browser. It is the default.
