Fix video and audio playback problems on Firefox for Windows 10

Last 2 weeks my xfinity movies, and possible Amazon Prime videos too, stopped playing/won't load in latest FF on Win10. Viewing most videos on YouTube OK, some commercial films posted available for free show "can't play" message with "diagnose" link, returning FireFox page saying "your browser is up to date" WTF?

Firefox displays message in browser frame at top of content area - "you may need to improve video playback by installing Microsoft Feature Pack click here" That MS link goes to FireFox page with UNHELPFUL info. - only Win10 link/info relates to some "N" version of Windows - nothing to do with my version.

So, is the issue a screwed up Win10 update - the one that makes Start Menu and toolbar items inaccessible to mouse? - or other "update" like the mouse-pointer?
