This is happening very frequently. The favicons in toolbar disappear, leaving just the text description, and while this happens, the browser freezes. It corrects in a few seconds, but is v annoying. thx.

It seems this problem was due to my trackball. I downloaded drivers for it, and the problem seems to have stopped. I'd been using the same trackball for many months before this issue started. Since then I've installed new Mac OS Catalina, which has caused a few probs. But seemingly not this one.
