Many thanks J

Hi macavity, Thank you for your question, I understand that you are on an online shopping site and that is says you need to allow cookies in order to retrieve a password that is not remembered.

Do these help?

Once you get access, go into the site user profile and confirm your e-mail. BTW, Firefox is just a browser. It has nothing to do with e-mail. FF only displays the web site.

It's not that unusual for a password reset email to be very slow in arriving, anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and some never arrive at all. I usually allow about 5 minutes before clicking again to generate a new reset message. After that, I just wait.

Firefox doesn't have its own junk mail filter, but your email site might have one. You could check for a Junk or Spam folder and see whether the messages ended up in there.

Hi Jscher thanks for your reply but no reset email arrived in my spam folder.

Hi Fred Mcd do not want to appear stupid but what is the site user profile, if I go into the website concerned where do I find the site user profile? many thanks

Hi Guigs2 thanks for your reply. have put the website concerned under exceptions to allow cookies, should that be okay? many thanks

What are your cookies settings?

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"

Do you have extensions that deal with cookies?

You can inspect and manage permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
  • Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab

Each web site that you log into has a profile section. This contains info about that user. Some sites have street addresses and other personal information like banks. Most however, only keep the user name, password, and e-mail. All sites also keep list user preferences.

Check and make sure any site has your correct information.
