TB 68.9.0 (64-bit). I'm using this version because I'm used to it.

Scenario:

• I am viewing the message list, eg the inbox
• I click a message
• The message is highlighted in grey with a thin blue outline. However it does not have focus: for example when I hit delete on the keyboard nothing happens
• When I click the message again (after a delay, so it's not a double-click) the message is highlighted in blue and I can now delete it from the keyboard
• When I delete it, grey highlighting (but again not proper focus) moves to the next email. If I want to delete that from the keyboard, I have to click it to make it blue.

Desired behaviour (this always used to happen):

• I click a message once
• It's highlighted in blue
• When I hit delete on the keyboard, it is deleted and focus (blue highlighting) moves to the next message so I can delete that from the keyboard immediately.

I've tried rebuilding the folder, to no avail. The config mail.delete_matches_sort_order is set to false, which is what I want (emails viewed from newest to oldest; when I delete one I want focus to move to the next one down, i.e. the next oldest one). As I say, the desired behaviour always used to happen and I don't know what's changed.

I rescue dogs, puppies, then I do the best I can to find the best homes and families that I can for them . I use Craigslist where the don't want you to give them away for free . You are allowed to ask for a small rehoming fee . Some of these people ask for $500 dollars or more . That's not a "small rehoming fee in my world ". I say "if" they can reimburse me for the puppy's shots I'd appreciate it , but that is all . I don't believe you have to have a lot of money to care for a dog .Well my philosophy has been getting my adds flagged and taken down almost as soon as they go up . Which means my puppies don't get adopted when they are the most adoptable . I have reviewed their rules a number of times and I don't believe I violate them .I've changed the wording of my add to closely match other ads on the site but still I get flagged by other users and taken down. I am begging to believe it's from puppy dealers/sellers trying to make a buck and my puppies are cheaper .I don't want money for them I want homes , good homes .So I need a new email so they won't flag me .I suppose I might have to change it relatively often.....is this possible ?

have 2 filters. want to run 1 on inbox and on spam on the other filter. Cannot enter different folders. When I change one of the filters in the run filter on they other filter changes the value in the run filter on to what I put in the previous filter. How can I have 2 different folders in 2 different filters

Since a few days, there seems to be an italicized copy of each folder in my mailbox. I tried multiple times to delete them, but, although they seem deleted, they appear again when I start up Thunderbird. I already contacted the hosting service, but they replied that this is an issue of Thunderbird.

This happens erratically, not every time. Annoying when trying to select a message to delete and the one before or after or both also deletes at same time. Now I have to go and retrieve it back to inbox. Checked in settings and cant find a solution. Also looked in pad and mouse settings to no avail. Seems to have started in last 2 or 3 months, can't be specific of time line.

I have a small office with 5 stations to access our one email account and we'd used thunderbird for years, but the lack of integration between the stations meant we changed to Outlook and of course that's a shitshow, so I'm coming back to ask you my self (rather than the tech guy) if there's a way to set up thunderbird so that if desk 1 opens and responds to email 17, that all the desks can see both that it happened and access the responce that desk 1 sent.

We have an IMAP email account hosted locally (as in, not a gmail account, or the like).

I'd be more than happy to pay for a piece of software that I could use. I've used Thunderbird (and Eudora) for decades and I'd like to continue to support it. But moreover, I'd like an email server that doesn't limit my account size (I use email for "corporate history") and one that would allow my individual staff members to see everyone's activity in the email server.

I had most recently (like 6 months ago?) been using thunderbird. My Tech guy said it was the most current version, but I couldn't tell you what it was.

We run on Windows -- most on 11 but a couple still on 10 until I can take the time to set up the new computers.

I was trying to clean up my iPhone 16 by deleting emails, double deleting emails, not realising that they were being deleted across all of my devices. I contacted Apple and, of course, as the emails were double binned they were unable to help me. I then remembered I was using Thunderbird on an older MacBook, MacOS 10.14.6. Is there any way I can retrieve these emails? Pleeeeease tell me there is. Ive read other answers but the questions that are being answered are not quite the same. Thanks for any reply.bold text

Only my new Mail is shown in Thunderbird all my Yahoo Sub Folders are MIA. I need to see & have access to those subfolders to a working Email system for me.

HELLO! I'm having a problem with some messages. If I receive a message and the program places it in the "Offers" section, then when I try to move it to the "Inbox" section, it disappears. And I can't find it anywhere! This isn't just a problem with the latest version of Thunderbird, but has been for a long time. Today I received several messages from my bank that the program classified as "Offers," but when I tried to move them to the "Inbox" section, they disappeared!! Where are they? It's very frustrating because now these messages aren't even on the server!

I used to be able to drag and drop emails from my inbox into an archive folder. That no longer works. I now have to right click the email, select "move to", then select the account containing the archives, then select "archives", then select the destination archive I need to send it to. On the right click drop-down there's an option to "move to *** again" but if you're moving emails to different archive destinations, that's not very helpful. Is there a setting to reinstate drag and drop?
