I NEVER want to mark all my email as read. How can I disable that functionality? I look forward to being able to also get rid of shortcuts that do not require ctrl, alt, or shift.

Migrated my data from old MacBook to new MacBook, and got a message of a damaged Thunderbird app. Deleted the app. Thus, I cannot retrieve personal data on my old Mac. I do have a gmail account, but my preference always has ben to use Thunderbird. How do I proceed?

It says that the folder is in use by some other operation. I tried a Force Quit and a restart and neither worked. Please help.

His OS is 10.13 and his TB is 115.18.0. He kept the old Mini because he was running an ancient version of Photoshop that ran a plugin that is not available for Adobe Creative Cloud.

Robert was a sculptor who did large kinetic work and much of his work is still on that computer.

I am still getting his email on my iPhone, so I don't know what is going on. Unfortunately, I haven't saved his email history on my iPhone so when someone answered a similar problem a couple of years ago, the only place that email would reside is in Robert's inbox on his Mini, which I can't open.

I use Thunderbird with Threaded View enabled and would like to keep using it.

What I am looking for is a way to have Thunderbird automatically keep older threads collapsed, while allowing threads that contain new or unread messages to remain expanded or become expanded automatically.

For example, a thread receives a new message - it is fine for that thread to be expanded. All other existing threads without new activity should remain collapsed. When Thunderbird is restarted, I would like older threads to stay collapsed rather than having many previously viewed threads expanded.

Is there a setting, hidden preference, add-on, or workaround that provides this behavior?

I am using Thunderbird on Kubuntu Linux.

It's possible to drag/drop contacts from To to CC or BCC.

It should be possible to do so across messages open in separate windows.

But when I try it, it fails.

As the topic says, the message list turned from the usual dark-mode look, to a full black background after updating to 151.0.

Was this an intentional change? How can I revert it?

A weird thing has started happening to my Thunderbird inbox in the last couple of days. Emails are showing as from a totally different sender. For example, a Google search on Sondheim has been "sent" by EDF (my electricity supplier) and some Groupon emails are showing as coming from people I correspond with. Also a Keto bread recipe from a low carb group I belong to has been "sent" by one of my work clients! More weirdly, I copied them into a subfolder on my inbox and they then appeared correctly. I have tried repairing the folder but it made no difference.

TB is hung up on my late husband's computer and none of the suggestions made has released it. Current advisors are Windows people and this is an old Mac Mini running OS 10.13. One of your advisors solved a similar problem two years ago and David told me I could open that message by clicking on Robert as question originator. To whom it concerns, It just happened yesterday June 11,2026. I put in my password to my e-mail to open it and it stated that my e-mail account is being processed. Said to wait until processing is complete to get messages. I have never had this issue, I been with Thunder Bird e-mail for years. It isn't even showing my e-mails that I had in my inbox on my e-mail. If you can please help, I need my e-mail up and going. Thank you, Chris Note, it also said that Thunder Bird had crashed in a box, they wanted to know what page I was on. I am not understanding this.

I had a great Thunderbird Emoji add-on that is no longer supported. This.

It no longer works on updated Thunderbird, and shows it hasn't been updated since 2022. I'm on Thunderbird 140.11 on my Linux Mint. The image the plugin inserts in message bodies is broken. Is there another/similar add-on?

I have found that once an email is put in the trash it will automatically be removed/deleted from the trash.

Today is June 14th and there are no emails in my trash folder older than June 9th.

Is there an account setting in Thunderbird for how long an email once in the trash folder will remain there?

Note, this behavior only occurs in the trash folder.

I have 4 seperate email addresses in Thunderbird. Only one of them has this problem and I would like to resolve it. When I send an email, the copy goes into "All Files" and not into the "Sent" email; folder. Which setting do I need to change to put it right please?

I use Thunderbird on a PC. It has began to open evry e-mail I select as a pop-up window. This is unusual for me, and I do not want it. I just want to open the e-mail inside those windows that already exist on the screen. It has been like that before. In settings I have selected to open e-mails in an "existing window" Is this korekt? Finally one more question: can I write in Danish here? It would be easyer for me to explain my problem in danish.

After click, Ask a question, a banner pops up saying my post is awaiting approval by a moderator. Why? What did I do or say that appeared so negative as to require approval first? IMO, it takes time for a Mod to mod it. Then it goes out for some people to see. It's not good for business if there is no wait time, and it a waste of time, if the problem asked, has a answer in a holding pattern, that goes in to a holding pattern again if/when the Post is permitted. Very odd..

I am trying to add an Proton mail account to Thunderbird using the Proton Mail Bridge (PMB). In the PMB guide it is recommended to uncheck Account Hub in the Setting>General. The problem is that the Account Hub still pops up when trying to add a new mail account - it simply refuses to go away regardless of several restarts of both the computer and the mail client!

Why Does Thunderbird Hang When Saving Draft? Right after creating a new email, and I "Save to Draft", Tbird says "Copying messages to Drafts" at bottom left of GUI.

The only way I could see to clear the "Copying..." message was to have Tbird check for mail in a different account. When I check for the draft in Drafts, it's not there - it's no where I checked except the original still in it's own opened GUI that opens when using "New Message"

Bottom line - can't save drafts.

When I try to send an email using my Mozilla account, the only choice provided is "send later". I do not want and did not knowingly ask for the choice "send later". How can I have my emails sent right away? Thank you very very much for any help you can give me.

I use Thunderbird on a Mac, where Gmail is my default email. When I try to send an email, it often takes 10 tries before it goes through, due to timeouts. How can I fix this?
