somehow i managed to import from one email account to another thinking i would like it but i don't like since it just makes me have same mail in 2 places but i don't know and can't find how to cancel the import, can someone tell me how

I followed the recommended procedure to transfer the TB profile from an older W10 computer to a new W11 computer (both using POP accounts ), via a USB Flash Drive. The folders are all listed on the USB profile copy and observed during the scrolling detailed view while being copied to the new computer. Nevertheless, they are NOT listed in Local Folders on the new profile. Instead, ALL the messages (approx 700 of them!) are presented as UNREAD in the inbox folder. How can I restore the original folder sorting?

I have had my main email account with Earlink.net since 1997.

It's functuionality is OK, but falling behind with the years, and now not at par with major email accounts. Furthermore, they keep raining tehmonthly price!

I'm using your Thunderbird as a backup only.

So, I want to get another/new account, at a better, more modern provider, and hopefully at a lower price.

But, once I do that, I need all my emails (organized in folders) accumulated for years to be brought to my new account AND future emails received at my old Earthlink account to be forwarded to my new account.

Please advise!

Hi, Unfortunately, I am a non-tech person and I am trying to install Thunderbird emails on my Mac Book. I have a thunderbird account which I normally access on desktop, however that will soon be obsolete so want to access them from my Mac Book, but I am really struggling to access and download everything. Please help a damsel in distress

I downloaded the free version of mailsdaddy and converted my old outlook emails from pst to mbox. My problem is that no matter which variation of import I use through the Thunderbird Tools/Import menu, I get a message that the import failed and more info may be available in the Error Console (wherever that is). Can you tell what I'm doing wrong. Thank you!

I am trying to import a backup of my gmail using using ImportExportTools.

What does this error message mean? Is there a corrupt email in my gmail? If so how can I find and delete it so I can complete the import, I think it was close to finishing.

2nd question.... After clicking OK on the error message I can select the local folder it was importing and I can see it is then downloading a range of messages with mention of their labels in the bottom of the window but the labels are not creating folders. Should I expect it to do that?

Hello, I've installed Thunderbolt and added my Outlook account. However, none of the folders I created in Outlook have been copied over. Only the standard built-in folders e.g inbox, junk, sent etc were setup in Thunderbolt with all the mail from the other folders in the inbox. This is not very helpful.

How do I set up the Thunderbolt account so that the folders (and contents) are matched with the folders (and contents) in Outlook? Thanks

Copied Thunderbird Profile from Windows 10 PC, pasted to Windows 11 PC - No email history or address book

I followed the steps to copy the profile from the old PC and paste it into the folder on the old PC.

Thunderbird is using that profile, but there are no email history or address book.

Hi, I am thinking of converting from MS Outlook (Office365) to Thunderbird. One of the features that I use extensively is Outlook's colour categories, to distinguish between different categories of emails (e.g. client emails, emails relating to infrastructure, etc). This is used for filtering and sorting emails. Does Thunderbird support colour categories for emails and if so, if I use a 3rd party app to convert my OST files to the Thunderbird format (which I understand is MBOX), will the existing categories for my emails from Outlook carry over to Thunderbird?

I can't find a way to import the Inbox emails from older Thunderbird version to the new version. When I use the Thunderbird Menu>Tools>Import>Mail, I get a list; Becky! Internet Mail, Outlook and SeaMonkey, none of I which I use. I just want to import my old Inbox and Local Folders from the old Thunderbird I've been using for a decade. This should be easy. What gives?

mein alter Rechner ist "gestorben", weshalb ich einen neuen brauchte. Vom alten Rechner hatte ich die drei Postfächer, mit denen ich "arbeite" gesichert und nun versucht, diese in der neuen thunderbird-Installation auf dem neuen Rechner einzuhängen, schrittweise, so wie in den FAQs zum Thema Import beschrieben.

Aber: Die alten Postfächer/Inhalte werden nicht angezeigt. Sie sind aber im Zielverzeichnis ".thunderbird" zu sehen und an der richtigen Stelle.

Ich bitte um Hilfestellung zur Problemlösung.

Hallo, seit Dienstag sind meine Emails verschwunden. Die betrifft mehrere Acc. Ich habe noch eine Inbox datei mit 4GB Größe, die wollte ich wieder herstellen. Das funktioniert leider nicht, brauche dringend unterstützung. Bei den Emails handelt es sich um Geschäftspost.

Have other computer running W10 Tbird using POP3. New laptop W11, I had mistakenly set up Tbird as IMAP. Didn't notice it for months until I needed to clean trash on email provider server. Then noticed all my trash on the W11 Tbird disappeared. I'm messy & like trash so want to keep it on my computers. How can I change the W11 machine from IMAP to POP3 without losing anything? Another question, is there any way to combine the sent emails from the different computers?

I want to switch from Outlook to Thunderbird. I installed Thunderbird and wanted to import all E-Mail-Folders from Outlook to Thunderbird. But only part of the folders and Mails are available in Thunderbird. Do you have any idea how this problem could be solved ? Thank you Harald Groß

Have been unable to open Thunderbird for a long time. Have tried everything I can think of and that suggested by the forum. I now wish to move my address to another provider. How can I do this?
