Only the last few emails are displayed in inbox, sent etc.

Fix whatever is wrong for my computer so I get my emails in the inbox. I'm older and am not good on electronics.

Some emails are delivered to an incorrect box. I want all new emails delivered to the In box.

Just recently, my new emails are being marked immediately as 'Read'- so old emails and new ones are indistinguishable. What's going on and How can I fix this?
