Firefox Home (new tab) UI update sucks

Seems like the newest Firefox update (131.0) changed the way my Home Page (on the new tab) looks. WHY??

Now there's a giant logo taking up a fifth of the vertical space, forcing me to scroll to see my shortcut icons. WHY????

Oh, and the shortcut icons are now spaced farther apart and are significantly smaller. WHY????????

I set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.logowordmark.alwaysVisible to false but the logo is still present.

Please revert these changes. Or, if someone could provide me with some tips on how to edit the userchrome.css or whatever, that would be great.

How to shrink this vertical space? (see attached image)

Ever since 131.0.0 my shortcut icons got all messed up so I am trying to restore the original look. I've already removed the giant Firefox logo and made my icons larger. Now I need to condense them so I don't have to scroll to see them all.

Here's what I have so far in my userContent.css:

Hello, how can I remove or hide "List all tabs" btn?

Set "browser.tabs.tabmanager.enabled" as "false" stopped working for me after update to version 131.0. Hiding the btn before version 131.0 was not a problem.

I saw in release notes that "List all tabs" got some changes. link

I use Internet Bill Pay through my bank, and it has always worked correctly with Firefox. I have enhanced tracking protection turned off for the site secureinternetbank.com and I have cookies authorized in my exceptions list. Today I got this message:

Why can't I access Bill Pay?

You might have cookies blocked or cross-site tracking prevented. Depending on what browser you're using, check your settings for these terms:

   Block third party cookies
   Cookie tracking
   Cross-site tracking

Make sure cookies are not blocked and cross-site tracking is enabled. Follow any additional instructions in your browser once you have adjusted these settings."

Bank says it hasn't changed anything, and no tweaks I tried on privacy settings fixed it. I believe it's an issue with the new version. Can you tell me how to fix it or let me know when Firefox will fix it? The site works fine in Microsoft Edge, but I'd like to avoid using Edge.

A new version of the "List All Tabs" appeared on my toolbar today, shown on the left and hovered over in the attached screenshot (ignore the Malwarebytes extension icon). The old icon for this button was a chevron with approximately the same functionality. I was able to remove the old icon, but I'm unable to find a way to remove this one. Here is what I've tried so far:

  • Like the old one, the Customize Toolbar feature is unable to remove it since it is grayed out.
  • For a while, I was able to remove the old icon by going to about:config and setting browser.tabs.tabmanager.enabled to false. This solution does not work for the current and some recent versions of the button.
  • I attempted to create a userChrome.css file (following all the steps according to this this website) and added the following string: #alltabs-button { display: none !important; }

None of these attempted fixes have removed the button following a browser restart. Is there a way to remove it? I have no need of a button that shows me what tabs I have open when I can simply look at my toolbar.

Since the recent update to Firefox 131, I can no longer use the Billpay option of my TD Bank account. I am able to log into my account without any problems and use all of the options except for Billpay. I want to add that I know I am not alone with this problem as I have seen several others with the same problem but with different banks. It is the Billpay option which no longer works.

As I said, the bank site is fine until I click on "Billpay", Then I get this: begin quote: "Why can't I access Bill Pay?

I look forward to helping in any way possible . But I'm on strike, my union rep told me to wait and do absolutely nothing until my back pay was caught up. It's not a cop-out I promise. It's just the best thing for me because I've started not liking anything anymore. I'm getting the opportunity that Is our biggest dream or mine anyway. I'm starting over with a clean slate from God and myself to go and see what he gave us for free no strings attached. I have loved FF desktop browser since I started using it per my boss in 2003. But I am so tired of the fact that EVERY SINGLE TIME you put out an update it breaks my access to the bank. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I waste HOURS reading articles, calling the bank IT dept, chatting with people who are on 3 calls at once, only to hear them tell me to "just use chrome." I clear the cookies, clear the cache, reboot, follow all the prompts in the settings and THEN the damned bank server doesn't recognize the device so it forces yet ANOTHER password change. It happened again TODAY and it makes me so sad but I cannot do it anymore. I am STILL now (going on 4 hours) trying to access the billpay page @ Xantanderbank. (ahem, secure codename) I am forced now, by this craziness, to use the imbecilic duckduckgo which is A) and offensive name and b) you KNOW it nowhere near the product you have built but I CANNOT DO THIS ANYMORE. Thank you for the time it takes to read this diatribe. I appreciate it.

I only opened 5 pages (fixed tabs), and only enabled two plug-ins, Proxy SwitchyOmega and AdGuard AdBlocker. The browser was always open, and the pages were static, and nothing was playing. The strange thing is that it didn't take up much memory at the beginning, but it took up more and more memory over time. Today the system got stuck and couldn't respond (it might be that the system used virtual memory).

I used the browser's task manager, which showed that the Shared Web Process memory of several pages was very high, some as high as 4G, and the GPU memory was also higher than before.

I think this is very strange. Why does the memory usage increase exponentially after the webpage has been there for a while?

My settings and usage habits have basically not changed. I didn't have this problem before, but it has appeared in the past six months. I have updated many versions, but the problem still exists. I have always used Firefox. If it continues like this, I will be very disappointed and have to make changes.

What I've noticed when I use FF I see no AI results when using Google search and I've not added an AI overview block extension. I've been using Firefox and Gmail on my PC and android phone for years. Today I can't log into my gmail account on my PC and instead it redirects to google support and goes on about clearing cache etc etc. I have cleared the cache but no different. I have restarted my pc and no different. PC is Windows 10.

I can log in to gmail using Google Chrome so I can't see that it is a Google problem. I can also log in ok on my Android phone.

Is this a Firefox issue?

The Firefox Sync system is really neat for keeping our booksmarks synced across devices, but what I would also love to see is the option to sync all settings as well, including the changes made in the "about:config" settings.

Across my years of browsing I changed quite a lot of small little things and having to track all of those down every time I set up a new device or reinstall windows can get a bit tedious, so I was wondering if those settings can also be included in the Sync settings somehow - or if such a feature might be planned for the future?

Fire Fox (Mozella) browser appears to be censuring content? In Fire Fox, when I read Fox Digital, I cannot see the comments any more when I’m signed in nor, signed in or not, the display boxes containing X posts and links. In the Federalist articles I can get the comments when I’m signed in, but the X content in them are not displayed. Comments in Yahoo are missing too. I tried changing Browser Privacy settings in Fire Fox, turning off my VPM, ad blockers, and tracker blockers but it does not correct the problem. All this content is available in Duck Duck Go and Edge browsers. Perhaps I have something I’m not aware of turned on but… Here’s two links to check out in Fire Fox then another browser.

For some reason I can't seem to disable the "List all tabs" button that appears on the top right corner of Firefox anymore.

I have the about:config setting "browser.tabs.tabmanager.enabled" set to "false", but the button still shows up all the time and it is pretty distracting from my usually clean Firefox interface.

Does anyone have a solution to permanently remove that button?

Dear Firefox,

I have just reinstalled my operating system after some issues. After reinstalling my browser, I logged into my browser after changing the password, but now no data is being synced. The open tabs, bookmarks and saved passwords were the most important, but none of that has synced back. After waiting for a little bit I decided to press the synchronize now button, but that also didn't do anything. Is there perhaps something wrong with the syncing right now? Or is there another way to get that data back? I didn't save it as I normally don't have to.

Firefox went through a pretty major change recently. i could see I had to change my toolbar customisation back to how I wanted it. However, I have about half a dozen add-ons controlled via icons on the browser, but all the icons are gone and I see no way to get them back.

I don't care about cookies Cookie Editor Disable Javascript Tab Auto Refresh uBlock Origin

Until the recent Firefox update I could switch these add-ons on or off whenever I wanted via icons on the menu toolbar. I now see no way to get these controls back.
