I'm trying to disable the tracking on my laptop. All this tracking is getting way too personal for me! When I go to Privacy & Security in Settings, I only get the option to Manage Exceptions where you have to enter certain website names for exceptions to privacy.or tracking. I want to disable all tracking as it's an invasion of my privacy. Any help will be appreciated and I am not a computer "techie" so specific instructions will be needed. TY

I use Firefox because it has been the only option where at the very least I can opt out of this ai slop bullshit. Because it is the only place not feeling my data through a dipshit filter right into Microsoft and Google's ad services.

Don't make me have to drop you.

Generative AI relies on the blatant and flagrant violation of user privacy to train its own language models and supply users with its own stolen, bastardized input. It slows down the browser its built into with no benefit, forcing its users to jump through ridiculous hoops and workarounds to disable its resource-gobbling features. If we wanted this, we would swap to browsers like Chrome, Edge, or Opera. If this snake-oil abomination that dares to proclaim itself some sort of advanced "technology" continues to be enforced on us, I, and many others, will simply opt for a different browser that does not enforce this abomination upon its users; of which there are plenty.

Dear Community: What settings can I use so that the sites I continually use recognize me. I have to sign into my email many times a day and also to the New York Times Games which I subscribe to. Is there a way to allow these sites to recognize me without having to go through signing in each time. Even if I log out and a minute later I need to go back on. I have to go through the rigamarole of signing in yet again.

I do not have to do this on my phone as the sites recognize me. I used to be able to do this on this computer also now I can no longer do it. I believe there is something in Firefox settings that is causing this but I don't know what it is or how to change the settings that are causing this.

I'm not an expert so my apologies for any ignorance or "non technical" talk. I've an account on a website. I signed out and then revisit that website as a guest and they says "Welcome Back". I tried to chat with online agent and they know that I'm an existing user. (Although they didn't mention my user name etc but still they know that I often visit their site.) I clear all relevant cookies of that website and even restarted Firefox but still the same situation. Even I tried to use a VPN but same. Just curious how do they know that I've been visiting this website before. Thanks for help.

Pages of text but I don't understand what the [expletive] you are doing or why! It's incoherent! Don't tell me what to do without telling me HOW to do it! We customers are not all software engineers. Unfortunately the software engineers who write everything I've been reading haven't learned that. I constantly read stuff that use terminology that is not self-explanatory. Then I'm asked to make a decision that is so badly defined that I have no idea what I'm deciding! SPEAK PLAIN ENGLISH!!!!! Don't ask me to choose among a list of options that YOU have defined, but none of which have any relationship to what I need to know. The "which topic" box just above this one is a perfect example. It took me a long time to even find this opportunity to speak to you! Choosing between incoherent options does not advance clarity for me or knowledge for you. Just stop using computer lingo and speak in a manner that would be understood by a 9 year old, or in my case, a 79 year old retired mechanical engineer. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to actually vent my frustration at what I run into on a daily basis, not just with Mozilla. Tom Riddering, [email address]

P.S. This whole incoherent mess this evening started when I tried to authorize McAfee to protect me from trackers, just exactly what that means I'm not sure, but it sounds bad. It's not at all clear just what would be tracked, who would bother tracking me, and why I need protecting. My life is so utterly boring.

The the past year, I've been constantly prompted to manage cookies on various web sites despite clicking on the "Accept all cookies" link or regardless of what settings I change.

This has been happening on numerous secured web sites and on all my computers (I rarely use the browser on my mobile device to access secured web sites). In fact, it happens even if I click on a new page within the same web site. That is, I get the prompt with the choices of "Manage cookies" and "Accept all cookies" on a web site such as with a bank (not exclusively on banking sites) and, when I click on the "Accept all cookies" option, the prompt returns as soon as I click on a link to go to a different page on the same web site.

How do I get rid of this as it requires I act on it. I can't ignore it as it often blocks the view of a large part of the page.

I started using Firefox Nightly for the split view, and I'm a tired of this alert.

I skimmed the quick article about configuring the Privacy & Security settings, but it seems like this feature just isn't working properly.

It doesn't matter if I click "allow" or "block", the alert always comes back. I care about my privacy, but not enough to do this every time I refresh a page.

I'd be happy to provide any documentation, just lmk what y'all need.
