I can add the short cuts I want but if I go someplace new Firefox will add it to my shortcuts without permission. This seems to be a new problem, and I don't like it! Then if I dismiss or delete from history its still not removed! Very annoying and may cause me to ditch Firefox for good!

Hi, I'm using Firefox 125.0.3 64-bit with Linux mint and some of the tiles on the homepage have disappeared I have selected 4 rows in settings but only 2 and a half rows show, I can remove all rows and select 4 rows again but only 2 and a half rows will show all the edit, pin etc, options are there and work and I can rearrange the tiles but if I dismiss a tile it disappears completely, any help much appreciated. please see added image.

So on my Legion laptop, Windows 11 Home, the bookmarks keep rearranging themselves, iv also noticed A LOT of duplicates and folders which I did not add. I rebooted the laptop then tried scanning the it with WindowsDefender and Malwarebytes, and refreshing the application. On my desktop which is synced, there is no issue. I thought I was seeing things at first until I focused right on the bookmark tool bar and every 10-20 seconds one will just pop into a new position. Will a fresh install work? That's my next step, but wanted to see if there is a better solution.

There seems to be no Firefox profile on the drive. Searched in hidden folders as well. Certainly not where it’s supposed to be: …\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Search for all files on the drive, but there seems to be no SQLITE or JSON files related to Firefox.

Not even a folder anywhere in the drive called Mozilla or Firefox or Profiles or Profile (at least not in relation to Firefox).

There’s no file called places.sqlite or bookmarkbackups anywhere on the drive.

The drive itself seems to be in a good condition and all other files are there and accessible. The file system doesn’t seem to be corrupt And man thousands of bookmarks were there before windows crashed.

Also checked places in \Roaming\ Just in case, as sometimes it could be found there for some installations.

Nothing found anywhere so far. Seems like running out of options.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have about 30 bookmarks on Firefox I use all of them on a daily basis. When I opened my Mac today, it had different wallpaper on the screen. I could not find Firefox on my dashboard at all. I had to pull it from my launchpad app. Please help my... I'm desperate !! Kenneth Mee (medic1464@aol.com)

Since my Firefox browser has many issues these days, I tried to reinstall it but forgot to leave the box next to “Remove My Firefox Personal Data and Customization” unchecked when I proceeded with the installation.

I don't have any manual backup of my Window 11 system or bookmarks / passwords stored on Firefox. And all Firefox folders now have a last-modified time later than the time when I clicked the installation file. Thus, I guess my bookmarks / passwords stored over the past two years are forever gone. But I would like to make sure that it is really the case so that I can move on and start feeling better.

I understand it was completely my careless mistake. But your kind feedback would really, really be appreciated.

I have recently had a Computer Crash and have set up a new Computer. However, I cannot find a way to synchronize my old Bookmarks. Part of the Problem probably is that when the Syncing was originally set up, I was using a different User Name [e-Mail Address] to that I am using now. I have been using Firefox since 2006; and have an old Sync Key dating from some time in 2014; but cannot find a way to enter it into the current Firefox Settings. How do I recover my Bookmarks?

I cannot figure out how to export my bookmarks from Mozilla Account. On the desktop browser when I open "Manage Bookmarks" and select Phil's Bookmarks, I am able to export the bookmarks from the Mozilla account.

The resulting html export file does not contain the bookmarks from Mozilla Account. There also does not seem to be a way to export those bookmarks from your online Mozilla Account interface.

How do I export the bookmarks from my Mozilla Account?

I've been using the same firefox (installed every update) for over 10 years now and a lot of bookmarks have been accumulated. They are from different sources for different reasons/subjects/interests etc... I think when I reached ~430.000 or something like that it really slowed firefox down in a way that even clicking on a folder in the "bookmark symbol bar" (the one underneath the URL address fiel) takes 2-3 sec to open up and show the containing bookmarks. In the bm-manager going from one folder to another also takes a few seconds. I've now deleted about 40.000 but no change it's still lagging. and deleting 1000 takes about 1h.

I've looked but so far I couldn't find another tool or a better way to manage all these URLs WITH their title.

I still want to keep them, but managing them has become so slow and tedious. So if you have any suggestions especially for other tools to manage them....

I also think the possibility to export only a part of them (selected ones, or specific folders) would be helpful; maybe also a tool to clean up the database? (like defrag did for harddrives?). or split it to differnt files? I don't know.

I know 400.000 bookmarks are extreme... but well....

I have Screwfix.com as a bookmark in my Firefox browser(default) and have recently found that I am unable to log in to Screwfix.

Screwfix tell me that I should be able to log in using Microsoft Edge (I can) but I prefer Firefox!

Can you sort this out for me please?

Hello there!

I recently had to reinstall Firefox as my original drive died. I had used about:config to disable the bookmark bar favicons as I have a visual aesthetic I enjoy on my computer.

Now in 2024, it seems that all of the settings I previously used are no longer functioning when toggling them to false within about:config. They were browser.chrome.favicon, and, browser.chrome.site_icons .

Doing searches, all I can find are tips and tricks from many versions ago, some dating all the way back to 2007.

Does anyone know how, in the current version of Fires, which at the time of this writing is 125.0.3 to remove the favicons? I have attached a pic of the look I am going for, which is the default globe icon, instead of the annoying favicon. I tried the userChrome.css trick, but it completely removed the globe icon as well.

I know there has to be a new setting in about:config that will work, I just can't seem to find it.

Any help would be most welcome! And thank you!

I am using the latest version of firefox nightly. I notice this on another PC that shares the same profile. However one of my PCs doesn't take this long and it uses the same profile as well. It also seems that the pinned tabs are not loading correctly because I get errors with those pages too.

Why are my bookmarks all of a sudden not working anymore.

Selecting the saved bookmark from DudkDuckGo or Firefox does not load the page.

Did i change a setting accidentally/

Did Mozilla change the functionality?

What's going on?

Note: I can access the page by going directly to its URL ... but what's the point of bookmarks if that is necessary?

I have used firefox for years as my browser with my home page set to google. I have always had a bookmarks toolbar but never a bookmarks side bar and do not want one. The other day a bookmarks side bar suddenly appeared. I have moved it from left side to right side and can delete it temporarily by using CTRL +B, but can't find a way to permanently remove it, i.e. make the default setting so that the side bar doesn't appear. can you help?
