Bookmarks and History are completely gone and the back-up files are empty

My Bookmarks and History are completely gone. I tried the recommended procedure to restore them from a back-up, but the supposedly automatic back-up files are completely empty. I have no idea how this might have happened. I have tried disabling some of my anti-virus apps to no avail. The only thing I can think of is that I may inadvertantly erased them when I ran a CCleaner scan. I could really use some help here!

I lost my bookmarks and tabs with their updates. Customer service basically says go figure it out in the Community. Pretty weak service!! I know it has probably effected many users so I wish we could ALL speak up. It is their software!!!
